Rock-A-Thon 2023
The Rock-A-Thon will be held virtually this year! The main purpose of this Rock-A-Thon is to fundraise for Fonds Foyer Richelieu Welland in order to buy equipment to add to the quality to the life of our residents and have a great time doing this all together. A Rock-A-Thon is a marathon in which teams rock in rocking chairs, socialize and have fun together.
The residents, along with their families, friends and many donors really enjoy participating in the Rock-A-Thon. This year you can look forward to rocking on your rocking chairs, listening to the Niagara Fiddler and participating in a variety of activities.
Some people will choose to simply make a donation, others will choose to make a donation and participate in the Rock-A-Thon. Whatever you decide to do; be assured that we sincerely appreciate all your help and encouragement.

Fonds Foyer Richelieu is currently organizing its annual golf tournament
Fonds Foyer Richelieu is currently organizing its annual golf tournament which will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 at Rockway Vineyards Golf Course – 3290 Ninth St., St. Catharines, ON, L2R 6P7.
Last year, thanks to the participation of all the players and our sponsors, the Foyer Richelieu Welland realized a profit of $50,000. So far, these tournaments have allowed us to raise $175,000 over the last five years.
This money has allowed us to purchase equipment for the Foyer and to get closer to the $5 million mark for our fundraising campaign for the construction of a new long-term care home (LTC).
Last year, we have adapted and reinvented ourselves. We have several new features awaiting you for our annual golf tournament. Register quickly as the number of golfers is limited to 100.
On behalf of all the residents of the Foyer Richelieu Welland, I thank you in advance for your support and please accept my best wishes.
Looking forward to seeing you at the tournament.

Thanks to the golfers and sponsors, the Fonds Foyer Richelieu Welland netted $40,000 last year. These dollars went toward the purchase of medical equipment for the residents and our Capital Campaign, which has surpassed the $3 million mark, toward the construction of a new long-term care (LTC) home.
This year we are facing an added challenge due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This pandemic has shed light on the very precarious situation of LTC homes, and we cannot overlook the urgency of building the new Foyer Richelieu. It is imperative that we move forward quickly with this project, and thus allow for an increase in the number of Francophone LTC beds available for vulnerable people in the community.

One brick at a time
Would you & your family like to leave a lasting legacy in your community? The Fonds Foyer Richelieu Welland is launching “A Brick at a Time” Campaign giving families the opportunity to purchase a Brick for $1,000 that will be placed in the garden of serenity at the new Foyer Richelieu Welland long term care home. As we have surpassed the fundraising goal of the “Touching Lives” Campaign, we are launching the “A Brick at a Time” Campaign to help with the purchase of the extra bells & whistles we wish for the new building.
Virtual Rock-A-Thon
This year the Rock-A-Thon is a virtual event to benefit the Fonds Foyer Richelieu Welland.
The Fonds Foyer Richelieu Welland Foundation organizes fundraisers in order to support the quality of life and care of the residents of the Foyer Richelieu Welland. Since 1989, The Foyer Richelieu Welland is a non-profit long-term care facility which specializes in improving the quality of life of people with chronic diseases. We ensure that the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual and recreational needs of each resident are attended to on a daily basis.

Welland’s Foyer Richelieu continues Rock-a-Thon tradition
More than $15,000 raised during annual fundraiser
COVID-19 couldn’t keep volunteers and supporters of Foyer Richelieu from rocking.
More than $15,000 was raised from the senior home’s annual Rock-A-Thon fundraiser, which was held May 29.
This year’s event looked a little different than usual.
