Duties of the Contact Person
It is highly recommended at admission that the new resident provides the Foyer Richelieu Welland with a copy of their Financial and Health Care Power of Attorney. We strongly believe in establishing a healthy relationship with the new resident and his spokesperson. It is very important to inform the administration office of any changes, such as a change of address or phone number in order to keep the lines of communication open.
We rely on these contact persons and the other members of the family to help us build a psycho social profile for the new resident. Their support is vital in implementing their health care plan. In the week following the admission and as needed, the nursing personnel will arrange an interdisciplinary meeting with the resident and their family.
In case of changes and deterioration in the health of the resident, the nurse must inform the person with the Health Care Power of Attorney, who will then be held responsible to contact other members of the family to inform them of the situation.
Visiting Hours
Residents’ family members and visitors are always welcomed. The main entrance is open from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. in the winter and 8:30 p.m. in the summer.
We prefer that you visit your loved ones at reasonable times of the day such as afternoons and evenings. For the security of our residents, the Foyer personnel may ask a visitor to provide identification.
During flu season, if you are sick, please wait until you are feeling better to come and visit your loved one so that our residents remain healthy.
During an outbreak, you must respect the requests established by the Foyer’s management.
Parking
Visitors are asked to park at the front of the Foyer Richelieu Welland. The rear parking lot is reserved for the employees and the residents.
The court at the main entrance and along the fire route of the Foyer is reserved for ambulances and fire trucks. This restricted area is monitored by the Regional Police and the Foyer Richelieu Welland is not responsible for the cost of towing and/or fine.
